Norway Cup is once again in full swing at Ekebergsletta in Oslo, and behind thousands of young players, coaches and cheering crowds stands an impressive machine of volunteers and officials. This year, no fewer than 1,600 volunteers and 200 accredited people are making sure the world's largest youth tournament runs smoothly. Behind the logistics are digital tools from Rubic – and the partnership keeps evolving.
Four years of partnership and digital development
Norway Cup has now been a Rubic customer for four years, and this year the tournament is using the new Rubic Organizer system in addition to Rubic Akkreditering. These tools streamline both volunteer organisation and the management of accredited officials. Crew manager Kai Fyrdenlund-Holm is very pleased with how the systems work:
Rubic Organizer makes it incredibly easy to keep track of the 1,600 volunteers. We also use Rubic Akkreditering to manage more than 200 other accredited people. Everything is connected, and it works really well, says Kai.

Professional accreditation – to the delight of the volunteers
A big new development this year is that all volunteers have been accredited and issued personal accreditation cards with a photo, name and QR code. This not only provides a better overview, but also a clearer structure and greater professionalism.
This has been very well received by the volunteers. It feels more serious and orderly, and it is easier for both the volunteers and us as organisers to know who is who, says Kai.
Digital vouchers – a quietly revolutionary step
Another major improvement this year is the introduction of digital vouchers via the Rubic system. Previously, hundreds of food and drink vouchers were handed out manually every day – a time-consuming and disorganised process.
Now everything is done digitally in Rubic Organizer, and the volunteers find their digital vouchers right in the Rubic Connect app. It is absolutely brilliant. I save loads of time, and it is far easier for everyone involved, Kai says enthusiastically.
A partnership that keeps evolving
Over the years, Norway Cup has been an important partner for Rubic, and the tournament has also been quick to try out new features in the systems.
They are always open to testing new things and constantly want to develop. That makes the partnership both exciting and valuable for us at Rubic. We are proud to be part of this, says the Rubic team.
Norway Cup 2025 shows how modern technology and a strong spirit of volunteering (dugnad) can go hand in hand. With Rubic as a digital partner, the tournament has taken new steps towards a more efficient, professional and user-friendly event – to the benefit of both the organisers and the thousands of dedicated enthusiasts who make the celebration possible.
