Terms for clubs, associations and volunteering — explained simply.

Accreditation
Access and role management for events. Volunteers, press and participants get predefined access to zones, tickets or equipment — shown as a QR code in the Rubic app.
Activity VAT
The part of the VAT compensation scheme that covers VAT on activity-based services (training sessions, courses, gatherings) for voluntary organisations — as opposed to operating VAT.
AvtaleGiro
A Norwegian payment agreement where the member gives the bank a standing authorisation to pay fixed bills (typically membership fees) automatically every month or year. Reduces reminders and frees up time for the board.
Dugnad (volunteer work)
Voluntary, unpaid work for the club or association. Typically used for maintenance, fundraising sales or events. Rubic Organizer keeps track of who has contributed and how many hours each member has left.
eFaktura
An electronic invoice delivered directly to the recipient's online bank. The recipient approves and pays with a single tap. Reduces both printing costs and payment delays.
FIKS (football)
The Football Association of Norway's digital system for matches, members, referees and transfers. Rubic Sport fetches the matches directly from FIKS, and changes are reflected in the club's calendar without any manual work.
Membership fee
The fee that clubs, associations and federations charge their members to cover operating costs. Differs from the training fee, which covers specific activities.
Chart of accounts
A structured overview of the accounts used in bookkeeping — assets, liabilities, income and expenses. Rubic uses a chart of accounts tailored to sports clubs and associations, so VAT compensation and NIF reporting are correct from day one.
Team fund
The team's own “fund” for expenses, income from volunteer work and training camps. Traditionally a shadow set of books kept outside the club's main accounts. The team fund in Rubic is posted automatically to the club's main accounts — no more Vipps transfers that disappear.
VAT compensation
A government scheme that refunds all or part of the VAT that voluntary organisations pay on goods and services. Sports clubs affiliated with NIF have a deadline of 15 August; other associations 1 September. From 2026, the accounts must be audited. Book a free VAT review.
NIF (Norges Idrettsforbund)
The umbrella organisation for organised sport in Norway — over 2 million members in 12,000+ clubs. Sets requirements for membership reporting (coordinated reporting) and accounting. Rubic is an NIF-approved supplier on minidrett.no.
OCR/KID
A structured number on invoices that banks read automatically and match to the right member and due date. The standard for collecting membership fees in Norway. Rubic charges a flat NOK 15 per OCR payment — big savings compared with percentage-based models.
Rubic Connect
Rubic's mobile app (iOS and Android) for members, parents, team managers and volunteers. Includes My page, payments, calendar, notifications, attendance registration and expense handling. Included in all Rubic packages.
Rubic Organizer
Rubic's volunteer management module. Used by Norway Cup for 1,700 volunteers and 4,000 shifts. Coordinates registration, shift allocation, notifications and confirmation of contributions.
Coordinated reporting
NIF's annual reporting of membership numbers, activity and finances, which sports clubs must submit by April. Traditionally a week-long project in Excel. With Rubic, the figures are already in place — reporting takes an afternoon.
Duty of confidentiality (accountant)
A statutory duty for authorised accountants to protect clients' business and personal information. Applies to the ECIT accountants who deliver Rubic Regnskap, who are subject to the regnskapsførerloven (Norwegian Accountants Act) and supervised by Finanstilsynet.
TurneringsAdmin (TA)
A system for managing matches, referees and licences in handball, ice hockey and bandy. Rubic Sport fetches the matches from TA in the same way as from FIKS.
Vipps
Norwegian service for paying by mobile. Through Rubic, card payments cost 2.5% + NOK 2 and Vipps 2.5% + NOK 3 per transaction.
