Rubic membership system – a strategic investment for the BMW MC club!

ElvegataMC

Rubic has gone from being a system designed for sports clubs to becoming a solution for all voluntary clubs and associations across Norway. BMW MC-klubben Norge was one of the first customers in this segment and has played an important role in its development.

In 2017, the club started using Rubic to make its membership administration more efficient. Membership contact Børre Mofoss has used the system since 2018 and describes it like this:

“The dialogue with Rubic has continued and grown stronger through good cooperation, as well as through development and adaptation of the system to the needs we have. The club's routines have also improved – and the quality of our member data has increased.

As we approach the end of 2019, the club can confirm that we have a system and a partner for the future! We can meet both the expected growth in members and local branches without worry – even though the administration of our membership is mainly handled by elected volunteers in the club.”

The founder of Rubic, Rune Solholm Bakken, explains that development of Rubic began in 2015, which makes it a fairly new membership system.

“At the start, the system was designed for Norwegian sports clubs that were struggling with financial management and uncollected membership income. Over time, we saw that the way sports clubs are administered could also be transferred to other clubs and associations across Norway's voluntary sector, and we decided to target this market as well. As part of this effort, we have valued our cooperation with BMW MC-klubben Norge.

For Rubic, the BMW MC club's ambitions for further growth, with both more members and more local branches, are very positive – and give the company input and challenges that create new business opportunities.”

Developer Martin Barhaug says that Rubic has learned a lot from having BMW MC as a customer:

“An organisation with several local branches was new to us, and it has been developed along the way together with the club. Today, members can find their local branch memberships, with membership cards, on their personal page, while the leaders have up-to-date member lists for their local branch and can easily send messages by email/SMS about anything at all, such as trips or meetings. The sign-up process that new members go through was developed in cooperation with the BMW MC club. We have also made this solution available to other Norwegian clubs and associations.”

Asked about the further development of the system, he reveals the following:

“We are continuing to work on even simpler sign-up solutions – this too in cooperation with the club. During 2020, the local branches will also be able to take registrations for meet-ups, trips or events, with payment directly in Rubic and with a saved card. That makes paying even quicker. eFaktura is also new, and can be paid via Vipps or in online banking in just a few taps.

All in all, members will experience many positive changes in the time ahead.”
