Read about which occupations require police certificates.

Through its executive board (idrettsstyret), Norwegian sport has adopted the following:

If a police certificate contains any remarks, the person concerned may not carry out tasks for the sports club that involve a position of trust or responsibility towards minors or people with intellectual disabilities. The same applies if a certificate has not been obtained or has not been shown to the person responsible for police certificates.

Coaches, instructors and team managers who will have direct contact with minors or people with intellectual disabilities will always be covered by the scheme.

The sports club's board must appoint a person responsible for managing the police certificate scheme.

This is what a process for maintaining a register of police certificates that have been shown could look like.

  1. The sports club periodically follows up on who has a valid police certificate. This is done by the person responsible for police certificates.
  2. The sports club gives confirmation of the purpose to the person who is to apply (who has not shown a valid police certificate).
  3. The applicant fills in their details and submits a scanned version of the application at attest.politi.no
  4. The applicant receives the police certificate from the police.
  5. This must be shown to the person responsible for police certificates in the sports club.
  6. The sports club updates its register of who has shown a police certificate.
