Palmesus: An exciting new addition to the Rubic family!

Rubic, which already delivers systems for sporting events, is now taking an exciting step further into the festival market. With newly signed partners such as Palmesus and Øyafestivalen, Rubic is ready to reach new heights and bring its expertise to some of Norway’s biggest festivals.

Social media Palmesus

Palmesus is Scandinavia’s biggest beach party, and every year almost 40,000 happy people gather on the city beach in the centre of Kristiansand to enjoy sun, summer and a truly unique party. Palmesus 2025 will be the 17th edition and takes place on 4–5 July. In addition, Palmesus Junior will be held on Thursday 3 July, an event for all ages following the same recipe as the original beach party for adults.

In 2024, Palmesus had just under 3,000 registered workers on the beach, including administration, staff, crew, volunteer work (dugnad) and external workers. In total, this amounted to around 30 person-years of work carried out during a 10-day production. In addition, Palmesus had around 3,500 accredited guests, including partners, ticket packages through our business network Sørlandsvenner, guest accreditation and tickets won through competitions and campaigns.

Jostein Stenersen, crew manager at Palmesus, on the new partnership with Rubic:

Choosing Rubic as supplier
The opportunity to take part in a project to shape a staffing and accreditation platform was the most important factor in choosing Rubic. Being involved from the start of the project gives us a golden opportunity to develop a system that is tailored to our needs.

We strongly believe that Rubic Organizer will improve the way we communicate with our employees, our crew and our partners, both before and during the event.

Palmesus’s long-term strategy
One of our main goals is to be industry-leading when it comes to systems. We want to develop systems ourselves, as well as benefit from innovative solutions that will help Palmesus stay one step ahead of everyone else in the same industry. That is why we have chosen to work with Rubic, as we consider them to share the same values as we do.

Challenges and solutions
Two clear challenges in moving to a new system are adapting to a completely new system and the need for training. Rubic has already put together a good plan for training both super users and area managers. Another challenge is the development and use of the new accreditation module. Follow-up from Rubic and Palmesus will play a key role going forward, and we strongly believe this will work very well.

We have high expectations that this will be a good partnership for both parties. We hope and believe that it will streamline and professionalise the way we work, with both crew and accreditation.

Improvements with Rubic and future collaboration
We want to improve the way we communicate with our partners and guests. If we can simplify the way we onboard both crew and partners, it will make us more efficient and help us come across as more professional.

The feedback on this project has been overwhelmingly positive. Every system comes with challenges, but we know that we have the opportunity to help find solutions to these challenges, and that the feedback we give is taken into account.

Being able to take part in the process and provide input that will help shape a completely new system is incredibly exciting.
