The renowned sports club LYN SKI has existed for over 120 years. With over 2,500 members and the joy of skiing as its top priority, it is extremely important for the club to have tools that provide good control and overview without taking too much focus away from the sport itself.
LYN SKI is part of Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn (SFK), which was founded as far back as 1896. The club has a long and distinguished history, with three Olympic champions in skiing and none other than King Olav as one of its former members.

Over the past 15 years, the club has grown its membership from a few hundred to around 2,500. This ranges from the youngest children at ski play to the more performance-oriented athletes.
Sports Club of the Year 2018
In April 2018, LYN SKI was named “Sports Club of the Year” by Oslo idrettskrets. The award was given because LYN SKI has worked purposefully to become an inclusive creator of activity in the local community and makes it possible for children and young people to experience the joy of sport.
“Much of our success lies in the club’s established framework and stability. There is room for everyone. For all these years, LYN SKI has worked to be a club with a friendly and inclusive environment, regardless of each athlete’s level of ambition and performance,” says Annik Bjørndal, general manager of LYN SKI.
Over 2,500 members
With over 2,500 members in its register and around 100 coaches, the club depends on a good system and a good member register.
“We now use Rubic’s member register for the whole of LYN SKI, which gives us a very good overview and control. We use the system a lot for registration for internal events, and there are plenty of those in such a large club,” says Annik.
All communication in one place
“We have now also introduced ‘Rubic LagetMitt’ for everyone,” she continues. “It’s important that everyone uses the same system to communicate.”

The system sends out automatic notifications that ensure everyone is kept up to date at all times. With the mobile app, parents and team managers also have access to up-to-date training sessions, matches and results right in their pocket! That way, a lot of extra work is avoided.
