When the World Ski Championships (Ski-VM) are held in Trondheim over the coming weeks, it is a solution from Rubic that handles the organisation of more than 20,000 volunteers and shifts. This follows an already successful staging of the World Handball Championship earlier this year, where the Lillehammer- and Hamar-based company was the system supplier for organisation. Now they want to expand internationally.
In 2022, Ski-VM Trondheim 2025 entered into a partnership agreement with Rubic, which is part of ECIT, to develop a robust and future-proof system for organising volunteers and events. Since then, the parties have worked closely together, through a start-up project and several World Cup events, to ensure optimal operation and development of the solution.
Ski-VM Trondheim 2025 has had a clear vision of creating a system that can benefit future events and event organisers in Norway. As part of this work, in 2024 Rubic began developing a new version of Rubic Funksjonær, now called Rubic Organizer. This new system gives event organisers a more flexible and efficient platform for organising volunteers and shifts.
Rubic has also developed a new accreditation system, which was previously integrated into Rubic Funksjonær. The new module has now been separated from the officials system and provides a more flexible solution that can be adapted to different types of events and needs.
Rubic Organizer has already been used at a number of large and small events, including World Cup Lillehammer. In January 2025, the system made its championship debut at the World Men’s Handball Championship in Oslo.
